Happy Hour in Breckenridge

These are my favorite happy hour/apres ski spots in Breckenridge:

  1. Ridge Street Seafood.  The restaurant opens at 4pm and by 4:30, you can't find a seat at the bar.  But you have to be at the bar in order to get the happy hour specials.  If you sit in the restaurant area, it's really expensive. And the happy hour is awesome!  They have fantastic salmon wraps for $2 each and tuna cocktail for $5. Yummm!  You can also get peel and eat shrimp for $0.20 each, or oysters on the half shell for $0.75 each.  Drinks are $1 off.  The oyster rockefeller isn't on the menu, but they make it really well, so be sure to ask for it.  The place has a cool vibe, too, as behind the bar is lined with all sizes of Tequila Corralejo.  The restaurant's style is old Victorian style that you'll see all over town.
  2. Rita's.  This place is right on Main Street and it's on the basement level. It's a taco joint, but it's not really Mexican style tacos.  You can choose your meat, style and sauce on the taco, so there are a ton of combinations possible.  I like the pork but I can't remember the style - maybe Hawaiian or something?  You have to get a marg while you're there.
  3. Bubba Gump's.  OK, I know this is a chain, but it's still a good place to go to for happy hour.  The appetizers are bogos (buy one get one free) so everytime I go there, I have to get the spinach artichoke dip and shrimp.  You can choose the shrimp with either cajun or garlic seasoning, but I always get half and half because I can't decide between the two.  My boyfriend's white trash side always come out at Bubba Gumps and he orders the PBR, which are super cheap.  I get a marg or two.  During the summer, patio seating is fun, with a great view of the ski runs.

The place NOT to go to for apres ski is the Burgenhoff restaurant at the base of Peak 8.  For one, I had a snowboard stolen from there once, so I have a bad taste in my mouth from that.  But even besides that, it's not really a very fun place to hang out. It looks like a big cafeteria and there's absolutely zero atmoshpere in there. The specials aren't any good, either.

I've noticed a couple of other places on Main Street with happy hour specials, but I haven't tried them out yet.  As soon as I do, I'll update this.  So much hard research to do!
